Deuteronomy 26-29

Deuteronomy 26–29 records Moses’ final call for Israel to renew their covenant with the Lord before entering the Promised Land. These chapters still speak clearly today, reminding us that obedience, gratitude, and wholehearted devotion mark the lives of those who belong to God.

Faithful obedience matters. Are we joyful in giving Him our first fruits, or do we begrudge Him (Deuteronomy 26:2)? God instructed Israel to bring the very best of what He had provided. That same posture of gratitude shapes our walk with Him now. When we offer Him the first of our time, strength, and attention, we acknowledge that every good gift comes from His hand. Following His commands brings a peace the world cannot give.

Moses pointed Israel to Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal—mountains of blessing and curse (Deuteronomy 28). We face similar crossroads daily. Obedience may require courage and surrender, but it opens the way for God’s protection and provision. Disobedience, though tempting, leads to loss and brokenness.

Yet even when Israel failed, God’s covenant remained.

That truth steadies us. Our identity rests not in flawless obedience, but in a faithful God who restores and renews His people.

When we stumble, He calls us home.
When we feel distant, He draws near.
When life feels heavy, His covenant love holds firm.

The choice remains before us today: blessing or curse, life or death. Let us choose the mountain of obedience — and walk forward in renewed faith, gratitude, and trust.
