Welcome to
Stonepoint

Stonepoint Church was founded through a love for Jesus and the
goal of connecting people to God, to others, in service, and around the world.

THE STONEPOINT STORY

Stonepoint was founded on April 17, 2011, and has since grown to two campuses that seek to exalt Christ and edify one another. As a result, hundreds of lives have been changed through God's grace.

The following events led to the beginning of Stonepoint Church:
      • In the Fall of 2010, a small group of friends met prayerfully to discuss the possibility of a new local church in Van Zandt County.
      • After much prayer, deliberation, and counsel from others, it became increasingly clear that a local church in Wills Point should be planted with the help of several families and eventually dozens more.
      • In January of 2011, after a series of gatherings, meetings, and thoughtful discussions, a group of more than 40 people agreed to commit to full devotion in Christ for God's glory and the good of others.

Stonepoint is NOT a perfect church. Matter of fact, our faith family is full of broken people in need of God's grace each day. We don’t have perfect leaders, but we do have a perfect God, and a clear mission from His Word to see imperfect people transformed into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Our Beliefs

We believe in the authority and inerrancy of Scripture. The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is in-spired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. Therefore, the Bible is the center of our lives, teaching, and discipleship at Stonepoint Church.

2 Timothy 1:13; 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 12:6; 119:105,160; Proverbs 30:5

We believe in one triune God, eternally existent in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:18-19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Hebrews 1:1-4

God the Father is the architect of heaven and earth. By His word and for His glory, He freely and supernaturally created the world from nothing. Through the same Word, He daily sustains all His creatures. He rules over all and is the only Sovereign. His plans and purposes cannot be thwarted. He is faithful to every promise, works all things together for good to those who love Him, and in His unfathomable grace gave His Son Jesus Christ for mankind's redemption. He made man for fellowship with Himself, and intended that all creation should live to the praise of His glory.
Genesis 1, Ephesians 1:13-14

Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is the eternal Word made flesh, supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He is perfect in nature, teaching, and obedience. He is fully God and was fully man. He was always with God and is God. Through Him all things came into being and were created. We believe that He lived a perfect, sinless life, died on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for man. He was buried, resurrected on the third day, and is coming again for all who believe in Him.

Romans 5:6-9, Galatians 3:13-14, Philippians 3:8-1, Hebrews 4:15
People are made in the spiritual image of God, and to be like Him in character. We believe the human race is sinful and separated from God due to the fact that we were born in the flesh. Due to this, each person must experience the work of Christ by faith in order to have a relationship with God. All people are separated from God by their sinful nature until they choose to repent and follow Jesus Christ with their life, their will, and their way. At Stonepoint, we believe that salvation is from a free gift from God, not a result of works, so that no one can boast.

Romans 3:10-20, Ephesians 2:1-3, 1 Colossians 1:13-14, Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9

Salvation is God’s free gift to us. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

Acts 4:12; Romans 5:1; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:2; 3:16-17; 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26

Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in His salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot lose the free gift bestowed on you by God. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that holds us and provides us the assurance of our salvation.

Acts 4:12; Romans 5:1; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:2; 3:16-17; 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26

We believe that the church is the body of Christ and is to be about His work of making disciples of Christ in the world. We are to be ambassadors of God in our homes, workplaces, schools, and communities.

Ephesians 1:15-23, Matthew 28:16-20, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31
We believe that water baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper are the only ordinances of the church.

Matthew 28:19, Luke 22:14-23, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
We believe that biblical stewardship involves the proper management of everything that God has given us (time, money, abilities, etc.) in order to expand His kingdom. Therefore, we encourage every member to adopt a lifestyle of stewardship and a recognition that God owns everything that we possess. We ask people to practice the biblical principle of generosity to help support the work of the local church.

1 Corinthians 4:2, 1 Peter 4:10, 2 Corinthians 9:6-12

We believe that marriage is God’s institution of joining one man and one woman and is a life-long covenant of two lives together to display a grace based, gospel centered representation of Christ and His faithful bride, the church.

Genesis 2:18, 24-25; Mathew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:31-32; Hebrews 13:4
